About

Edward J. Butler, First Grand Knight 1911-1912
Fr. Vincent L. Ouellette, past State Chaplain

The Knights of Columbus Father Vincent L. Ouellette Council #1541 is a fraternal organization of men dedicated to serving Jesus Christ and our local community. Our council was chartered on February 19th, 1911 by the members listed below on the chater.

We support numerous organizations with our fundraising activities including our local parishes (St. John and St. Joseph), the Care Clinic, Beyond26, and others.

Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practical Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. What is a “practical Catholic?” A practical Catholic accepts the teaching authority of the Catholic Church on matters of faith and morals, aspires to live in accord with the precepts of the Catholic Church, and is in good standing in the Catholic Church.

There are two million Knights and 16,672 councils around the world. Collectively, the Knights have volunteered forty-nine million service hours, collected $185 million in charitable donations, funded $1.1 million scholarships, and provided $3.7 million in support of seminarians and postulants.

Our council currently has seventy-two members.

What organizations do the Knights support?

The Knights have also raised $1.3 million for the Heroes Fund and $21 million for Special Olympics.

Protecting human life is also a priority of the Knights of Columbus. Worldwide, councils have donated 1,745 ultrasound machines to pregnancy support services.

We also support the Holy Father and his mission. Since 1982, the Knights have given $67 million to the pope’s personal charities.

Locally, our council supports Beyond26, the Care Clinic, our local parishes, and other organizations.
