Jan. 14 – The Jubilee Year of Hope

At our Cor meeting this month, we watched an episode of Living Divine Mercy with Fr. Chris Alar, MIC about the 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope that Pope Francis began on Christmas Eve. In this episode, we explored the biblical roots of jubilees, heard a testimony from former NFL player Jason Brown, and learned about the virtue of hope.

Bishop John Doerfler opens the Jubilee Year in the Diocese of Marquette with a message of hope:

Bishop John Doerfler on pilgrimages in the diocese:

“At the local pilgrimage site, one is to either participate in Mass or any of the following: a celebration of the Word of God; the Liturgy of the Hours; the Stations of the Cross; the Rosary; a penance service, which ends with the individual confessions of the penitents.” – Nov. 22 issue of UP Catholic

The Jubilee indulgence may be obtained with the normal conditions of Holy Communion, confession, prayers for the Holy Father and by making a pilgrimage to St. Peter Cathedral or any other churches in the Diocese of Marquette that have been designated as Jubilee pilgrimage sites.
